I got my passport!

Jubilation!

Yay Yay Yay!!!
Jubilation and elation! I just returned from the Chicago passport agency where I successfully retrieved a new passport after nearly three hours of waiting. My initial appointment to get my passport was at 1:00 but did actually receive it until around 3:40...I am so thrilled. The only unfortunate thing was that by the time I received my passport, the Ecuadorian Consulate was already closed and therefore I must wait until Monday in order to get my passport stamped with a visa. No worries, I should be able to make my flight deadline which is on Tuesday morning.
So for the time being I am just taking advantage of my time in Chicago as a "mini-vacation". :)
..will continue to keep you posted! :)

Chi Chi,

I guess I should not have kept your winter coat! I am sure the clean undies feel good, however! I am so thankful that getting your passport has become a reality and I am sure that the rest will go well so you may leave on Tueasday - a one week delay! We are all so grateful that you are safe - that is the bottom line - things can be replaced - NOT YOU!
Enjoy your Chicago weekend - wish you were here w/me as I am alone! We could have had some girl bonding! I love so much!

Well Lex, who would have guessed you would have had so many adventures before getting out of the country! Sounds like you handled things like an old world traveling pro! Glad it's all coming together, can't wait to hear more. Love you!
Eileen and Steve and Ryan too!
